What is CAPP?
The CAPP (Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention) Program is a New York State funded initiative that is dedicated to reducing adolescent pregnancy rates, and promoting sexual health among adolescents who are 10-19 years of age. As part of the “comprehensive” approach we offer programs that provide opportunities for youth to develop assets that ultimately support their transition into healthy adulthood.

CAPP partners with agencies in Erie County to provide a variety of free youth development programs that promote healthy adolescent sexuality. Most of our programs take place in Buffalo Public Schools, but we also work with a number of community and faith based organizations.

Services Available:
Evidenced Based Programs
CAPP offers three evidenced based programs that are intended to educate youth at an age appropriate level. The following programs contain curriculum that has shown evidence of changing adolescent risk-taking behavior and that align with NYS Sexual Health Education standards.

 Other Services:
  1. Summer Enrichment Program: Each summer, BFNC’s CAPP program offers an educational Summer Enrichment Camp at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Buffalo. The program serves approximately 30 middle school aged youth (9 – 13). The program operates from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday for six weeks in July and August.
