Participant learning to cookThe BFNC's "Do Drop In" center and clubhouse at 292 High Street is open to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, age 18 and over. The goal of this program is to empower its members to function at the peak of their individual social and vocational skills. To achieve this goal, the club is "member owned and operated." By being responsible for the functioning of the organization, members gain initiative, independence and self-sufficiency.

This emphasis provides opportunities for consumers to explore their interests and to plan and implement activities in an atmosphere of mutual respect and support. Activities are arranged in response to members' specific areas of interest. The role of the BFNC staff is to provide support and advisement for the members'efforts.

Social Club Services

These services include:

  • Educational, vocational, and health/lifestyle presentations

  • Referral and linkage to vocational and other community services through BFNC's case management department
