Our Senior Day Training program is tailored to seniors age 50 years and over, with serious and persistent mental illness and/or developmental disabilities. The goal of the program is to help these individuals achieve their optimum level of functioning in the community, and to prevent those who have been institutionalized from reinstitutionalization. Consumers can participate in the various day training program services either as a part of a group or on an individual basis. A service plan is developed to meet the needs of each member. The program is unique in that it gives those with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities an opportunity to interact with well seniors on a daily basis, in cooperation with the BFNC's Moot Senior Citizens' Center.
