At a public meeting held on October 18, 2016 at Westminster Community House (421 Monroe Street), BFNC's Executive Director Ricardo Herrera, MSW, shared details with the community about the proposed redevelopment of the historic building. Please stay tuned to this site for dates of future community meetings about the project, and to offer input about its progress. 

Highlights of the "Westminster Commons" Redevelopment Include:

  • A mixed-use building is planned.
  • The building will take advantage of historic tax credits to preserve the integrity and local history of the 100+ year-old Westminster Community House structure.
  • Remediation will take place to ensure a clean building to include lead and asbestos remediation. 
  • The building is being designed to allow for meeting space, which will be available to the community. 
  • Transportation services will be provided to residents of the Commons by BFNC.
