All About Westminster Commons

Your Invitation To Our October 31st Meeting

All are invited to attend a community meeting on Tuesday, October 31, from 5 to 7 pm at Westminster Community House (421 Monroe Street) to learn about the BFNC's proposed new senior living facility, Westminster Commons.  

The Commons will be located adjacent to the historic Westminster Community House.

The 100+ year old building will be redeveloped as a shared space community center and health, wellness activity hub for apartment residents and the neighborhood.

Highlights of the Redevelopment Include:

  • Adults and seniors ages 50+ with low income will qualify for applying for an apartment.
  • The new building will enhance the Adams/Monroe Street neighborhood and will surround seniors with the services they need.
  • One and two bedroom apartments will be offered.
  • A pharmacy, kitchen, food services, community health linkages and transportation services will be offered to residents.
  • Community space and gardens will be included as key components of the facility.
  • Construction is slated to begin by November 2018.
  • Occupancy is estimated to begin in January 2020.
  • ​​Light refreshments will be served. ​​​
