Since 1986, BFNC's C
ommunity Residence Program has been fulfilling the goal of empowering persons who have mental illness with the skills to become full and contributing members of their communities. BFNC provides a continuum of mental health residential services in licensed and non-licensed settings with varying degrees of independence and support. We believe in providing the "right" housing opportunity at the right point in time in someone's life.

Licensed Community Residences 

OMH Licensed Community Residences offering staff support, while fostering independence. Receive 24-hour on-site staffing, meals, support, advocacy and recovery-oriented services. Involvement in activities outside the residential setting include recovery oriented programs, vocational programs, school, and competitive- and non-competitive employment.

Community Housing Program

Treatment Scattered Site Apartments

Offering the highest level of independence in a program licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health. Designed as a preparatory step before independent community living. Emphasis on empowerment and increasing self-reliance. Staff make routine visits and are available 24-hours a day in the case of an emergency.


Supportive Scattered Site Housing

An unlicensed New York State Office of Mental Health program that secures safe, permanent housing for consumers with low income. Individuals receive a furnished apartment, linkages to necessary community supports and advocacy.
